College Football Week 6

by Larry Leek

Here we are already almost halfway thru the season with week 6 upon us. There are only 2-games involving ranked teams this week perhaps the best one pits the #19 W. Virginia Mountaineers at the #12 TCU Horned Frogs  so you’ll have to do a little searching to find some other good ones, however there are some good or should I say interesting games to checkout this weekend for sure.

The #6 Miami Hurricanes At the Florida State Seminoles should be a good game to watch and yet another tough one for the Seminoles, trying to avoid their 3rd loss of the season, while the Hurricanes are trying to prove they deserve their top 10 ranking. Miami should win this one but an upset IS always possible between these two, so stay tuned.

How much more can LSU Tigers fans take? After losing to Troy last Saturday or actually just before the game’s end, you could see the displeasure from the LACK of fans in all the empty seats. The Tigers travel to Gainesville to take on the #14 Florida Gators. The Gators have won their last 3-games and they shouldn’t have any trouble doing so at home, but you can bet the Tigers will be FIRED up for this one, so it should be a good one to watch and who knows what the outcome will be.

The 3-1 Maryland Terrapins face the #9 Ohio St. Buckeyes in what could turn out to be a very interesting game. The Terrapins won’t be an easy win for Ohio St. and it could turn out to be anything but. So it will should be another good game to watch with a possible surprise ending.

The other game matching up two top 25 teams has the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide at the #25 Texas A&M AggiesIf things go par the course, the Tide should have an easy time with the Aggies, BUT you never know a major upset is possible. At the very least the game could prove another one of those interesting matchups if only early on, if NOT throughout it’s entirety.

The 3-1 Michigan St. Spartans play their state rival #2 Michigan Wolverines Saturday  you assume the Wolverines will make quick work of the Spartans, but you NEVER know what might happen in these rivalries and the Spartans are trying to become legit again, after all it hasn’t been that long since they were. So here’s yet another gem or what could  turn out to be.

There’s a few other interesting matchups with little implications as to their outcome but still worth the watch. Check out the lineup below and get ready for another GREAT weekend of football.
