College Football, Week 4 Looks Better.
Week 4 has a number of intriguing match ups so make sure you have plenty of tailgate goodies on hand to get thru the weekend. There will be great matchups at the push of the remote. Lets examine some of the BIG games coming up.
Games of note are:
Both teams are undefeated at 2-0, The Houston Cougars biggest win thus far came at the Arizona Wildcats while Texas Tech’s was against Arizona St. It should be a good game between two smaller schools. Houston should get the win, BUT the Red Raiders are at home, so maybe the home crowd can be an influence.
This should be another great game to watch between two 2nd tier SEC teams. Even though the only legit team Texas A&M has faced thus far is the UCLA Bruins which resulted in a loss, they are on a 2-game winning streak against a couple of nobodies, so maybe they can use that as a 2nd rate fuel for the fire. Arkansas has split their first two games. The beat Florida A&M, but was no match for #14 TCU in their opener. The Razorbacks should take this game at home.
#1 Alabama travels to Nashville today to take on undefeated (You heard it right) Vanderbilt. The BIG question is or should be, How long can the Commodores hang with the Tide? Vandy’s biggest win this season was against Kansas St. while the Tide’s biggest win thus far was their opener against #8 Florida St. The Tide should have NO PROBLEM defeating Vanderbilt but you never know. Watch the game & see what happens.
A lot of folks wonder why WOYSM has #21 Oklahoma St. ranked SO low. they lost their rival game against #7 Oklahoma in their season final and even thou they won their bowl game, they did not overly impress. They have looked good this season and if their success continues they will climb. Lets don’t forget they also lost to Central Michigan last season as well. #14 TCU enters the game undefeated. Last season they were no match for the Cowboys, losing 31-6. Oklahoma St. should win the game but anything can happen.
Is Purdue as good as their record indicates? They will get their biggest test of the season today from #2 Michigan. the Wolverines are undefeated going into the contest with Purdue’s only loss coming at home against Louisville. It should be a GREAT game to watch. Thus far the Wolverines biggest win came against #18 Florida in week 1. The Boilermakers enter the game at 2-1 with their biggest win thus far coming against Missouri last week. The Wolverines SHOULD win this game, but an upset is possible here.
This game promises to be an SEC classic. Both teams are undefeated with #18 Mississippi St. coming off a HUGE win against #19 LSU last Saturday. #12 Georgia barely defeated Notre Dame narrowly (20-19) to earn their biggest win of the season. Don’t be surprised if the Bulldogs from Mississippi beat up on the ones from Georgia. Either way it should be one HECK of a dog fight.
This is Whats On My Sports Mind about this subject:
There’s a WHOLE slew of games this ole Sports Mind believes are going to be great games to watch. Maybe MY South Carolina Gamecocks can get back on the winning track against a Louisiana Tech team thats 2-1 with their only loss coming at the hands of Miss. St. The Gamecocks lost to Kentucky last week scoring on the 1st play from scrimmage and then being held to just 10 pts. their after. Don’t be surprised if the Bulldogs give South Carolina fits, I know this Sports Mind won’t be. The Gamecocks should win though.
In the other games dept. you can look for Penn St to beat Iowa, Florida to knock off Kentucky, Mich. St. to beat the Fighting Irish and Washington over Colorado.
