WOYSM College Top 25

#23 Western Michigan Shutout Akron 41-0. Fox Carolina

The #2  Ohio St.Buckeyes showed their moxy on Saturday after QB,  JT Barrett’s slow start in the 1st half. Barrett went 11-15, 199 Yds. and 3-TDs in the 2nd half/OT as the Buckeyes defeated the #12 Wisconsin Badgers 30-23. #23 W. Michigan ran their record to 7-0-0 and entered the WOYSM Top 25 for the first time this season. The Broncos shutout the Akron Zips 41-0.

#1 Alabama continued to show why they are still the top team in all polls including the WOYSM top 25. The  Crimson Tide got little challenge from #21 Tennessee in a 49-10 Shellacking of the Volunteers.

#1 Alabama Downs #15 Tennessee

#4 Clemson squeaked by yet another mediocre ACC opponent, beating unranked NC State by a TD 24-17. One thing the Tigers have shown is that they can match up pretty well with anyone in the country and even though they have yet to pound on anyone this season the main thing they do manage to do is continued winning which is all that matters.

#3 Michigan was idle and that probably made all of their future opponents happy giving them all another week to prepare. The Wolverines have been beating up on their opponents pretty bad this season. The offense has averaged 47 PPG. over their first six games and that includes their 14-7 squeaker over Wisconsin.

This Is Whats On My Sports Mind about this subject:

Right now it appears Alabama, Ohio St/Michigan winner, Clemson and Washington are all vying for the four available playoff spots. Should five of those four teams win out My Sports Mind can see it coming down to the Tide and either the Buckeyes or Clemson as the other team in the championship. The BIG question has to be are the Tigers as good as they were last year AND are the Buckeyes better than last season? From what I have seen thus far this year I’d have to answer No and Yes. The only other question in that scenario would be who would be matched up in the playoffs. Should Michigan beat the Buckeyes in their game, you still have to wonder if the Tigers are good enough to beat either team.

Even though #5 Washington is currently on the outside looking in, IF they can manage to win out they won’t be but they are still considered the fifth best team so upsetting any of the teams in the top four will be a tall task.

Lets take a look at this weeks College Football Fan Highs and Lows:

How about those W. Michigan fans. The Broncos make the WOYSM College Top 25 for the first time this season. Their fans HAVE to be riding a nice High with the success their team is having this season, but don’t get TOO High this Sports Mind can’t see that you are anywhere close to the BIG boys.

S. Florida is another one of the smaller colleges that are in the polls. they also entered the WOYSM Top 25 this week. Bulls fans have to be happy about the way their team has played this season.

Also entering the poll fir the first time this season, the #25 Colorado Buffaloes come in at 5-2-0 after knocking off a pretty good Arizona St. team 40-16.

Another team from Florida, the #10 Gators won big defeating Missouri on Saturday 40-14. Gator fans have to feel good just to see their team hanging out in the top 10. It has been awhile you know.

#10 Florida defeated Missouri

My South Carolina Gamecocks had the week off.

Tennessee fans are back down off their High horse, ALL the way back to earth after a 5-0-0 start. Look at it this way at least it was the #1 team that beat you Soundly….

Va. Tech was in the polls BRIEFLY. Didn’t I mention last week this would be a make OR break week for them? Looks like they broke again and let down their fans whom My Sports Mind would imagine are missing their team being in the limelight. If Saturday was any indication, it may be awhile longer.

Wisconsin lost another big game against a ranked opponent yet again letting their fans down for the second time this season against ranked teams. Looks like the Badgers fans will have to settle for the thrill of still being ranked period. Since both of their losses came against ranked teams plus the fact that they did take the #2 Buckeyes to overtime before losing gives the team plenty of credentials for remaining there.
