WOYSM NFL Top 15 (Week 11)

by Larry Leek

New England Patriots

What better day to post the new WOYSM NFL Top 15 than on Turkey Day, Better known to ALL of us Americans as Thanksgiving and to everyone out there, WOYSM wishes you all a VERY Happy one.

Our 11th poll has no new surprise in the top spot, the #1 New England Patriots continue their dominance over the NFL.  They have been ranked #1 all season, including the preseason poll are are one of only two remaining undefeated teams. The #2 Carolina Panthers are the other team without a loss thus far, however other than the Pats. and Panthers Perhaps the most consistent team in the rest of the Top 15 is a team that wasn’t even in the poll last week….

The patriots defeated #12 Buffalo 20-13, while the Panthers beat UP on Washington 44-16 and will face the rejuvenated Cowboys on Today at 4:30 PM on CBS. It could be a game to watch as a possible upset as Dallas has QB, Tony Romo back in their line up. Romo returned in their win last Sunday over Miami 24-14. The Cowboys after starting the season       2-0-0 lost seven straight with their backups subbing in for the injured Romo.

The rest of the NFL has become a prime example of what team parity (though A good thing) can do to a league. It promotes equality thru out and thus gives all teams a much better chance of playing on an even playing field and its also made a mockery of most of the WOYSM NFL Top 15.

NY Giants

Once you get to the #9 NY Giants everyone below including the giants and with the exception of #13 Atlanta have a .500 record and though the Falcons are 6-4-0 they are in a tailspin having lost their last three games and four of their last five. So none of them or anyone thats not in the poll have shown any sign of consistency either way winning or losing.

The Giants had their bye last week and still moved up 3-slots due to every other teams failure to win. Perhaps the most consistent team in the lower half of the Top 15 is a team that wasn’t even in the poll last week.

Jammal Charles

Returning to the WOYSM NFL Top 15 and as we said perhaps the most consistent team “WIN wise” is the #11 Kansas City Chiefs.  The Chiefs started out their season with a win then went on a five game skid and since have won four straight but it’s not just that they have won, but that they have out scored those four teams by a combined score of 130 to 39. they beat San Diego 33-3 Sunday.

Also new to the WOYSM NFL Top 15 for the first time ever are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay has improved each week that last couple of weeks and got a big confidence booster defeating Philadelphia  in dominating fashion 45-17.

#3 Arizona has looked great as well, they took out #6 Cincinnati 34-31 handing the Bengals their second straight loss.

#4 Pittsburgh moved up without playing a down, they had their bye week, but the Steelers have been rather inconsistent this year so we will see just how long they hold that spot.

Getting back on the winning track last week were #5 Denver  beating  Chicago  17-15, #7 Green Bay  who beat #8 Minnesota 30-13 and #10 Seattle defeated San Francisco 29-14.

Dropping from the top 15 were Oakland and St. Louis, the Raiders lost their third straight losing to Detroit 18-13 while the Rams lost to hapless Baltimore 16-13.

This is Whats On My Sports Mind about this subject:

First off a Very Happy Thanksgiving to EVERYONE and Family. May the good Lord give you many things to be thankful for today and everyday.

I’ve been hearing a lot of rumors out there that Philadelphia Eagles, Head Coach Chip Kelly could be playing for his job the remainder of the season and from what My Sports Mind has seen this season AND his off season moves prior to the season, I’m NOT surprised. But things could change to the positive side possibly IF the other rumor I heard comes true and the Eagles are able to acquire QB, Colin Kaepernick from San Francisco. Should that happen Coach Kelly could have the QB he needs to fit his offensive scheme.

Ok, you heard it here 1st well maybe not first but with QB, Tony Romo back with the Cowboys and most of the team back healthy as well, My Sports Mind can see Dallas beating the undefeated Panthers today. IF MY Cowboys can accomplish that they could be tough to beat thru their remaining schedule however when you look at how inconsistent the rest of the NFL has been this season other than Carolina, New England and just a few others even if the Cowboys failed to win another game this old Sports Mind would not be surprised.

One word about the Cowboys backup QB’s Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel, PACK YOUR BAGS!! You are OR should be FIRED!! you couldn’t even win ONE single game between the two of you out of seven tries and thus you FAILED to do your job, so in MY Sports Mind neither of you deserve to keep your job and Dallas needs to be looking for two more backups RIGHT NOW!!

I still think the Patriots are the best bet to make the super bowl but in the NFC it could be any one of what looks to be four teams. The Panthers, Arizona, Green Bay and Minnesota but don’t count out Seattle or Dallas just yet.

So Whats On Your Sports  Mind about this subject?

Yep I was hoping so myself, but now that Romo’s out again and what looks to be for the rest of the season, Would suit me fine if they lose out & end up 3-13 so they can get some top draft picks in the 2016 draft.
