WOYSM Pro Top 15 (Week 6)

by Larry Leek

This week in the NFL saw the Top 4 teams remain unbeaten while the Carolina Panthers also remained unbeaten as well and taking advantage Atlanta’s surprising loss to the Saints  31 to 27 moved into the WOYSM Top 5.

The NY Jets moved up to sixth after defeating Washington 34 to 20, while the Falcons dropped to seventh after their loss to the Saints 31 to 21.

The rest of the ranked teams are nothing more than a crap shoot with the best teams sitting at 4-2-0, 3-2-0 or worse. It seems like there’s few actual GOOD teams this year for one reason or another. It’s got to a point that the Top 15 may have to be reduced to the Top 4.

Winding out the Top 10 are Pittsburgh 3-2-0, Minnesota 3-2-0 and Arizona 4-2-0 and the final five teams are NY Giants 3-2-0, Dallas 2-3-0, Buffalo 3-3-0, Indianapolis 3-3-0, Philadelphia 3-3-0 and NY Giants 3-3-0. So you can see where this is going.

This is Whats On My Sports Mind About  this subject:

As far as the New England Patriots are concerned “Another One Bites The Dust” and it’s beginning to look like they will run thru the entire year as the #1 Ranked team. Can anyone beat them & knock them off the mountain? Until the playoffs begin My Sports Mind has to say NO!

The Patriots now lead the race as the team with the most #1 ranks 7 weeks (Including the preseason poll) to everyone else’s 0. So My Sports Mind tells me this race is over and the Fat Lady has begun to warm.

Over in the NFC  the Packers look just as unbeatable, but like I said once the playoffs roll around anything can happen.

WOYSM’s Top 4 has been pretty steady since the Cowboys fell out early on but the rest of the top 15 has been anything but steady with the teams ranked 8th on down looking to be early outs in the playoffs OR an early out of the playoff race.

If MY Cowboys could just manage to win a couple games they would still have a chance once everyone gets back IF they can remain healthy, but if the backups can’t do what they are PAID to do by the time Dez, Romo and others get back it could be too late.

I was inspired by the defensive play against New England, with the additions of Greg Hardy and Rolando McClain to the lineup, Hopefully with less than formidable opponents on the upcoming schedule than last week against the Patriots, the defense can help secure some victories.

Did anybody see and get the license plate number off the truck that Atlanta ran into? The Saints put it on the Falcons in the Superdome, but alas its just another typical day in the NFL.

Gone from the poll are the Super Bowl  runner up Seahawks they just cannot seem to stay consistent winning OR losing

The Philadelphia Eagles made it back into the WOYSM Top 15 after a nice win against the Giants on Monday Night beating them soundly 27 to 7. They replace Seattle at #15. The Eagles have looked much better the last two weeks, Lets see if they can sustain that. My Sports Mind says NO they won’t over the long haul, Though I hope I wrong, I think in the end injuries could play a big role.

So Whats On Your Sports Mind about this subject?
