WOYSM’s Pro Top 15 (Week 4)
Even though the New England Patriots were off this weekend it don’t matter, unlike College Football where the final score can influence a teams rise or dimise in the poll in the NFL Poll someone has to knock a team from the mountain of ranked teams for them to fall and of Course that holds true for the Defending Super Bowl Champ and #1 Ranked Patriots.
The Top 4 Teams, New England , Green Bay, Denver and Cincinnati all retain their positions in the WOYSM NFL Top 15 with Atlanta moving up to the #5 slot after Arizona’s loss to St. Louis to round out the Top 5.
The middle of the poll, slots six thru ten starts out with Carolina, NY Jets and Seattle all of whom moved up to occupy the sixth thru eighth spots.
All of the teams from #9 all the way to #14 all lost in week four, which in the NFL is never unusal and of the six ranked teams that lost only Minnesota lost to a ranked team (Denver) and Buffalo lost to the then unranked Giants Who moved into the Top 15 for the first time this season.
This is Whats On My Sports Mind about this subject:
I’m kinda dreading the upcoming games for Week #5 as my heavily wounded Dallas Cowboys host the #1 Patriots. My Sports Mind can’t help but question the conditioning program the Cowboys have in place because I can never remember a team being SO decimated with injuries and it seems to get worse every week.
This past weekend it was LB, Sean Lee (Concussion), WR, Brice Harper (Hamstring) and RB, Lance Dunbar (Knee), all of whom were looking very good in the young season until the injuries. The Cowboys are already without the services of QB, Tony Romo (Foot) and WR, Dez Bryant (Foot) for the next 4 to 6 weeks.
One bright spot Dallas does finally get DE, Greg Hardy on the D-line for the first time since aquiring the DE from the Panthers, after Hardy served a 4-game suspension due to domestic violence alegations, also LB, Rolando McClain who is also coming off a 4-game suspension for substance abuse and possibly rookie DE, Randy Gregory who could return after suffering a high ankle sprain in week #1.
But will it be enough to offset the potent Patriot offense? As much as I would like to think so, My Sports Mind tells me otherwise because I do not see enough fire power on offense to keep up with New England.
The Patriots have been the #1 ranked team all season (5-weeks, including the preseason) and it looks like even the MIGHTY Packers could have trouble getting even a chance to unseat them, It could be that the only way they knock them from the #1 position even once ALL season is to beat them in Super Bowl 50, but anything could happen before then, just ask the Cowboys….
Denver and Cincinnati both look very good thus far, Cincinnati appears to be playing better football at the moment than the Broncos and if they can continue to win My Sports Mind can foresee them taking over the #3 position soon.
Thus far in the NFC no two teams appear to be playing better than Green Bay and Atlanta but as long as QB, Aaron Rogers is healthy for the Pack I have to give the nod to them.
