Brady Not Too Worried….
The Story broke out over the weekend that New England Patriot QB, Tom Brady didn’t appear too concerned about allegations concerning his role in Deflate-Gate. He was enjoying the links with friend and NBA LEGEND, Michael Jordan over the weekend in the Bahama’s.
According to the Boston Herald, Brady and his wife, Model, Gisele Bundchen were visiting the tropical country for a wedding.
Brady was suspended for the first 4-games of the 2015 NFL season for allegedly having involvement in what has been termed Deflate-Gate by having Patriots staff personnel under-inflate his game balls to his liking. Brady is appealing the NFL’s ruling and also has gotten 100% backing from his boss, Patriots owner, Robert Kraft.
Kraft over the weekend gave his full support to Brady and since the NFL’s ruling has also called for an apology from the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell. Kraft also claimed the Wells report unfair and is considering other options in the aftermath of the NFL’s fine and expulsion of draft choices handed down to New England.
Brady seemed anything but worried about the team standing behind him and claiming to possibly pursue further actions against the NFL, while still proclaiming his innocence in any wrong doing or involvement in the scandal.
Also further notes concerning the suspension of the two staff members involved in texting with Brady & also believed to have been involved in deflating the footballs used by Brady during last season’s playoff game against the Colts. After being questioned about why the two workers were suspended, the Patriots stated that it was the NFL who asked them to suspend the two, but the NFL has denied the claim.
Now in further developments Kraft announced on Tuesday, that the Patriots would accept the NFL’s penalties handed down to the team ( $2 million and loss of a 1st rd. pick in 2016 and a 4th in 2017) & not appeal. Citing that he knew alot of Patriot fans would be upset over the decision but he did not want to be divided among the 32-teams in the league anymore. Many were surprised that Kraft took the stance he did in the beginning, after the penalties were announced, since Kraft had spent so many years helping to further strengthen the power the NFL possesses. The decision by Kraft to accept the penalties does not however, have anything to do with Tom Brady’s appeal of his 4-game suspension.
So was Brady’s golfing trip that big a deal or just a typical day in the life of the NFL superstar?
This is Whats On My Sports Mind about this subject.
Well it was reported that the Brady’s were there for a wedding. Fancy meeting you here Michael, how about a few rounds of golf? Coincidence? of course not and I really see it as no big deal. Even if Brady took advantage of the trip to get AWAY from all the bad publicity he’s gotten layely by getting in a round or two of golf you can’t really blame him and I can’t say I wouldn’t do the same.
You can’t expect Brady to hide away in his home and fret about it, can you? Worrying about things never does anyone any good and it’s not like Brady’s facing prison time for something so small as deflating a football. But of course the questions are going to emerge. WOW he must not be too concerned about it or he wouldn’t be in the Bahamas, If he was he would be talking to his lawyers. Oh REALLY! I think everyone deserves their right to privacy no matter how famous, but the media doesn’t see it that way. Too bad the media doesn’t get followed, but then who would want to?
But at the end of the day, with Kraft pledging his 100% support and belief in his quarterback, it’s like I said in the article I published back on January 27th. If Brady should admit down the road that he IS guilty of the accusations he has been charged with, after Kraft has gone so far in supporting Brady it could seriously dampen their relationship when you consider the embarrassment that Kraft would have to endure.
As Far a Kraft backing out of the appeal, it’s speculated that after Kraft and NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell who met at CBS executive Sean McManus’s 60th birthday party in New York, where Kraft and Goodell shared a couch ALONE and talked for awhile that perhaps Goodell may have told Kraft something to convince Kraft to drop the appeal, but nothing definite was revealed. I suspect that Goodell informed Kraft that of the other 31-owners, that none were backing the Pats. owner in his fight, so Kraft decided to take the high road instead of continuing the fight.
