Is Brady The Best QB EVER?

New England’s, Tom Brady

A 5th round draft pick out of Michigan w/ a chip on his shoulder is how you would describe New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady when he came into the NFL in 2000. Since then Brady has repeatedly shown ALL 31 other NFL  teams that they made a HUGE mistake by not drafting the future hall of fame QB.

Not only did the other teams make the mistake once, being that Brady was drafted in the 5th round, but most teams blew it 5 times. Tom Brady & the Patriots will be making their 6th Super Bowl appearance this Sunday at Super Bowl XLIX in Phoenix, AZ. Brady is 3-2 in his 5-previous SB’s & if the Patriots & Brady are going to win a 4th title, they will have to do it against Seattle’s top ranked defense. Since Tom will be playing in his record 6th Super Bowl, many are asking the question… is Brady the BEST quarterback to ever play.

This Is Whats On MY Sports Mind About The Subject…..

When you start talking about the best EVER in any category when talking sports, the very 1st question you have to ask yourself is has the individual EVER won a championship? If the the answer is NO, you can stop right there cause it will (in most cases) immediately disqualify them from the title, ESPECIALLY if they play Quarterback. When you start asking who is the Best QB ever, only a few names might come up. Names like Joe Montana, John Elway, Terry Bradshaw, Troy Aikman, Peyton Manning or Drew Brees to name a few. But at the end of the day only 2-names will stand out; Joe Montana & now Tom Brady. If Brady can manage to defeat the Seahawks in SB XLIX, it will definitely help the argument that Brady is the newly crowned BEST EVER. You also have to look at one very important factor that really says a lot for Brady’s case as well. When you look at the surrounding cast that Montana had around him & how many of those were Pro Bowl players & are now Hall of Famer’s vs how many different variations of players have come & gone since Brady became the starting QB for the Patriots. Though many were Pro Bowl caliber, MOST of those will NEVER be elected into the HOF. So you have to give Brady a lot of consideration for the title. If I had to choose between the 2 QB’s I’d have to say I am going to reserve my opinion until AFTER Sunday because I think if Brady’s overall SB record falls to 3-3 which is mediocre @ best, I would still have to give the title to Montana. I have to also ask myself if Montana had been implanted on the same 18-0 Patriots team that lost to the Giants in SB XLII would he have completed the run & made it 19-0? My Sports Mind tells me YES.

What’s on YOUR Sports Mind on this subject ?
